Planetarium - experience space
Let us invite you to a journey to the realm of stars! Accompanied by spheric tunes, you observe the beauties of space with a 600-mm-reflector telescope in an air conditioned cupola hall.
In the planetarium of Schneeberg – the only one along the Silver Trail – the most modern Zeiss instrument "Skymaster ZPK 3" was installed.
Because of its mechanical and optical precision, this projector guarantees a superior authenticity of what is demonstrated to the visitor.
31 projectors project circa 7000 stars onto the cupola. In a brief time span, the point of sight can be changed from the northpole to the southpole. Natural processes with a duration of 24 hours, a year or even more are demonstrated in some minutes by a qick-motion camera.
Not only stars are projected, also sun, moon, planets, comets and artificial satellites are visible in their appearence and movement.
The "Skymaster ZKP 3" can be used in different ways:
- as a storyteller – fairytales and adventures from space for our young visitors
- as a stage for live actions and theatre
- as a showmaster for all themes of astronomy, space flight and related sciences
- as a giver of contemplative hours under the starlit sky with music, lyric and history
- as the heart of multimedia visions
- as educational aid for classes, lectures of popular science and to train the astronomical orientation
